The psychologists at Bridge Road Psychology are able to help with a wide range of issues. A detailed description of our psychologist experience capabilities can be found here. A list of types of issues we address can be found here. This includes some of the therapies we employ.
If you feel you need to see a psychologist you may qualify for a Medicare rebate. Medicare rebates are available for up to 10 individual and/or 10 group psychological therapy services per patient per calendar year, it is also possible in certain circumstances to get some extra sessions. To receive the rebate you must get a referral from you GP, psychiatrist or, in the case a child, a paediatrician. The referral from your GP is usually called a 'Mental Health Care Plan' or 'Mental Heath Treatment Plan. You can of course simply pay the fee and/or claim from Private Health Insurer (The practice can facilitate you claims via HICAPS). For issues relating to NDIS, CTP Claims, Workcover etc. please contact the practice by calling 02 44805631 or using our contact form here.
Initial appointments to see one of the psychologists are arranged by phoning the practice on 02 44805631 to make a booking. To allow us to concentrate on your issues and not administration you can download a New Client Registration form from here, to fill out and bring with you, or email it to us prior to your appointment.
Follow up appointments are usually made at the end of your appointment by the psychologist as you leave. If you prefer you can ring to book the appointment at another time.
If we have your mobile phone number you will receive a reminder 1 week before the appointment asking you to confirm you are still planning to attend, and another sms simply reminding you of the appointment the day before your appointment.
You can cancel, or reschedule an appointment by calling 02 44805631.
A standard consultation is approximately 50 minutes. The initial consultation may take a little longer
Please bring a copy of the Mental Health Treatment Plan provided by your GP or letter from a psychiatrist or paediatrician (this enables you to get the Medicare rebate for the consultation) and doctor’s referral letter, if you have one, to the initial appointment or email it to the practice before the appointment.
Please bring any reports or information you think will be helpful to your initial appointment
